The role of assistance in Social Forestry (PS) is important today. However, in its implementation there are challenges both in terms of quantity and quality. This requires collaboration between parties which is now present through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 28 of 2023 concerning Integrated Planning for the Acceleration of Social Forestry Management. However, the efforts carried out do not necessarily directly address the challenges in PS assistance. In its implementation, it is suspected that there are things that influence the implementation of the Presidential Decree, especially from individuals and the surrounding social structure. The purpose of this article is to examine the PS assistance assistance collaboration that exists from a structuration perspective. Structuration is thought to be able to dissect the influence of mentors as agents on assistance of Social Forestry Groups (KPS) and the surrounding social structure. The approach used in this article is qualitative with a literature study method using desk study techniques. The data studied comes from regulations, journal articles, books and statistical data from related institutions. The results of the study show that Presidential Decree Number 28 of 2023 has become a new symbol for overcoming the challenges of assistance in terms of quantity, while regarding quality there are several factors that influence it, such as the structure of the institution, the meaning of information, and the capacity of the mentor. Commitment and support such as developing companion competencies according to needs combined with KPS participation has the potential to create future KPS development.
